Unpaid carers
Many people that we work with live at home with family members or friends who help care for them.


We work with people and their carers when we complete assessments and develop care plans.
We look at what support people need to live their lives, and this can include support for their carers.


A carer’s assessment can work out what support you may need in your caring role.
There are different ways you can get a carers assessment:

This is a local charity run by parents, for parents.

The Parents Federation can offer:
- regular and informal carers social gatherings
- signposting to support
- information on your rights as a carer , and
- advice on what assistance you are entitled to.
