Advocacy

You can find out more about advocacy and how it could help you.

What is advocacy?

Advocacy is helping people speak up for themselves or speaking up for them if they need help.

Advocacy can help you have more choice and control over your life.

Our local advocacy services are independent of Social Services.

There are different ways to get help to speak up if you are worried about something.

  • work to change attitudes.

They run a number of regular groups and campaigns you can get involved with.

You can use an independent advocate.

This is a professional advocate who will meet with you and those that are important to you. They will find out what you want to happen and help you speak up.

Professional Advocacy services are provided by Cardiff and Vale Gateway.  They will send you to the right advocacy service for you.
